Colonial Quito

The Middle of the World City, invites visitors to observe a miniature model, which celebrates the architectural beauty of the Historic Center of Quito. Created on a millimeter scale by the talented Ecuadorian Guido Falcony Palacios.

The "Quito Colonial" Foundation reproduces the historic center of Quito as the best preserved colonial old town in Latin America. This miniature model began its elaboration process in 1990 and ended in 1999. Years of hard work where the beautiful and complex colonial architecture was captured, reproducing the temples, churches, republican buildings, monasteries, convents and churches that with aesthetic of baroque gothic art adorns Quito City.
Also, in the Quito Colonia foundation will be observed the miniature model of the Basilica del Voto Nacional, also known as the Consagración de Jesus, Basílica de San Juan, for the zone in which it is located, is a neo-gothic building in the historical center of the Quito City.

Visitors can also enjoy a model in honor of the Cuenca city, Azuay capital that stands out for its beautiful colonial sites, including the Baroque Tomebamba River, is unquestionable evidence of the urban image of the city.
